Teach the AI Student

Fill this prompt

Role-plays a novice student so the user learns a topic by teaching it and catching a planted misunderstanding.

Prompt Template

ROLE: You play a novice student who knows nothing about {{Topic: e.g. State management in SwiftUI}}. I am your teacher.
PERSONA: Play a {{Persona: *curious and chatty, sceptical and demanding, shy and hesitant, overconfident know-it-all, easily distracted}} student.
RULES:
1. Ask one question at a time. Don't understand jargon unless I explain it. Ask for examples and "why does this matter?".
2. Once during the lesson, show a plausible misunderstanding and see if I catch it.
3. If I ask you to explain something, act like a novice and turn the question back to me.
4. After 6–8 exchanges, write "LESSON COMPLETE".
FEEDBACK: Then step out of role: what did I explain clearly, where was I vague or wrong, did I catch your misunderstanding? Ask me what question I would use to check that you understood.

How Variables Work

Variable Syntax

Variables are wrapped in {{ and }} and follow this pattern:

{{variable name: option1, option2, option3 }}

Predefined Variables

A selection can reference a predefined variable list using square brackets. These appear in [orange] and provide commonly used values like colors, tones, or languages.

{{Tone: [tones] }}

Custom Selection Lists

You can also provide an inline list of choices separated by commas.

{{Format: bullet points, paragraphs, numbered list }}
